Hey fellow foodies,
Today I wanted to share a quick and easy potluck recipe I made for my husband’s fathers and sons campout. We’ve also taken it to potluck barbeques over the summer.
Only thing to note is that these do tend to get a little soggy if not served right away but they were a huge hit! I’ve toasted the buns initially before and that helps just didnt have the time this time.
Ingredients:
- 16 hot dogs
- 16 hot dog buns
- 1 cup of mexian blend cheese
- 2 15oz can of no beans chili
- 8tbs bbq sauce
- 1/2 small red onion, diced
Preheat oven to 375
Get an 11×14 disposable aluminum pan or baking dish and spray it.
Lay out the 16 buns and squirt some bbq sauce into each one. I spread it in the bun with my finger, let’s be real, but you can use a butter knife.
Next place a hot dog in each bun and divide the chili evenly amongst the 16 buns. I didnt use all of the 2 cans but you can 😉
Next sprinkle on the cheese and add red onions, if desired. I only did it on half of them.
Lastly cover with foil and bake for 30min. Serve fresh and warm. Honestly it doesn’t get much easier than this!
Happy eating,
